It seems that the eastern block countries have made voting more of a farce than it was before....I liked Lordy, and the fact that they wiped the smile off Russia (who still claim to have won it that year).

yep that has become a strong factor in it now the eastern block voting. They've tried to combat it by changing the semi-final layout. Hehe Russia so badly wants to win but just can't get there

my first cousin wrote ireland's eurovision winning song in 1981,
it was about my uncle who went through a bad patch after my aunt died. can anyone name that tune?

It was not to be. Maybe next year then?

I only liked three songs of the lot, today. They ended not better than somewhere in the middle. No friends of the former Sovjet states, so go figure...
