"Even Ruud is professor at the Department of musicology at the University of Oslo and Professor II in music therapy at the Norwegian Academy of Music. He is trained as a certified piano teacher from the Music Conservatory in Oslo and as a music therapist from Florida State University (Master of Music Therapy). Ruud has studied musicology and education at the University of Oslo (cand. philol.) and he is dr. philos. with a dissertation on music therapy. Ruud is also trained as a certified psychologist (cand. psychol.) and he is also a fellow of AMI (Guided Imagery and Music). He is currently Head of the program of music therapy studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Even Ruud has been working interdisciplinary within musicology and music therapy in relation to didactic theory, special eduaction, psychology, cultural theory and media studies. He has been using approaches from the humanities and social science to understand musical influence within different contexts. Professor Ruud has published about 15 books and 200 articles. Several of his books and articles has been translated to japanese, german, portuguise, spanish, english , italian and swedish. Dr. Ruud is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science."
