Into thin Air was wild. how many people died during that storm?
I imagine Phlabs TV show is at least partially based on that book.

I've read Into Thin Air a couple of times, great book! I believe most people who try to climb it are amateurs who simply have the money for the escort. Another good one by Krakaur is Into the Wild. If you get a chance give it a read.
On the subject of books I'm in the middle of The Chess Artist by JC Hallman. I highly recommend it.
Knew a guy many years ago called Lance, everytime you saw him in the pub you would say hi, and look him up and down, why cos' he had been frostbitten and it had turned to Gangrene...bless him. You never knew whats been cut off. Last time I saw him he had lost 7 fingers and would never get the beers in. Wot a bar-steward..............True story though!....Even though he had a mountain to climb to get over his illness, he would never shake hands.
