I suppose I have the same question. Do you have some formal education that in some way justifies your diagnosing a case of narcissistic personality disorder on an internet message board?

On occasion psychiatrists are asked for an opinion about an individual who is in the light of public attention or who has disclosed information about himself/herself through public media. In such circumstances, a psychiatrist may share with the public his or her expertise about psychiatric issues in general. However, it is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement.

I know Suzianne is not a psychiatrist but is she even on the way to being one?

Ghost of a Duke ONCE posted to say he did not agree with her repeated diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder [certainly not an everday term], he said it ONCE, and yet he stalked me across multiple threads for two months, posting 100+ times to say, over and over and over again, that he disagreed with my use of everyday English words.

It's difficult to work out what semblance of principle animates the two of them on this matter.

We need more psychiatrists posting on here.

We are. Some more than others and others more than some.

I find it troubling that most here seem to not understand the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist, and yet they seem perfectly free to opine that others have "no qualifications".

I have a BS in Psychology and will finish my MS in Clinical Psychology in the Late Spring/Early Summer.. After that, I intend to pursue my doctorate. After that, feel free to call me "Dr. Suzi". Too bad I won't be here at all by then.

Where will you go? You won't find anywhere like this.

No, probably not.

I'm thinking I'll be far too busy to be wasting the kind of time I've wasted here so far.

But this is why I didn't renew my sub, why I didn't jump-start my clan again, why I haven't started any games. I actually figured I'd be out by now, but c'est la vie.

Does this justify and enable you to diagnose narcissistic personality disorder - or other mental health conditions - on an internet message board when you are angry or feel animosity towards someone?
