Very sensibly, we now have the CP investigating allegations of cheeting.
Splendid.
In order to submit a querie as to possible cheating, one must use the feedback system, detailing evidence of said cheeting.
OK so far.
Now, I have a suspicion regarding a certain player: a rather dubious graph with a sudden winning streak against all comers after fairly consistant loses in the 1200s. It's not what I would call evidence though. How then am I expected to gather sufficient evidence for the CP to take an interest?
I have no engines and wouldn't know what constituted 'evidence' using them if I did.
I suspect I will not be alone in this. So how then can the CP act, when none but a very few skilled individuals have the ability and tools to gather sufficient evidence to enact the CP process? And if the CP process cannot be enacted, do we have a CP process at all?
Originally posted by ark13I have absolutely no idea and suspect most players are in the same boat as me on that. Thus my choice to air this issue in a public thread rather than by site feeback.
I have an engine that I used to analyse a suspicious game, how much evidence is required to report someone?

"Just do it". :-)
Originally posted by arrakischeers for the encouragement, but as I said, it's their rating graph and the sudden change in behaviour of that graph that got me thinking: I've neevr played them and don't have any specific game in mind (though any of the last 50 may be contenders...)

How do I submit a game? Where's feedback?
What I was trying to get out of this thread mainly was some idea of what the CP would consider as being 'reasonable grounds', given the lack of 'forensic' skills held by players en masse.
A barrage of trivail cases would overload the CP, while a lack of cases would invalidate the process. Middlegrounds are always tricky to find and walk well.
It is so silly to cheat in chess. Since you do not benefit monetarily from playing chess here at rhp, what purpose does it serve? Does it really make people feel good to win from cheating? "Oooooooh! I am so good I have a 1900 rating from cheating! Everyone will think I am great!" sad really

Is that what people think when they see a 1900 rating?
The cheats on here obviously suffer from a lack of ambition as well as being dishonest. You've gotta admire their consistency at taking the easy way.

Believe me... if we are to give the mods any credibility, it has to start with the members. So any member who suspects computer abuse needs to simply send the game to the mods along with a note why they suspect computer abuse and the mod team will take over from there.
Interesting, i have no engines as well, nor do i know how to use one...but if you send me a pm i can take a look at the games, im a pretty good judge, im havent been in the forums for the past lil bit when it comes to the whole cheating situation, im wondering why David Tebb is gone from the list? A personal Decision perhaps....Ive recently been receiving messages about cheaters here, actually 4 messages, anyone receive the same?
