There is an aeteological myth with Hermes and Argos, Hera's 100-eyed servant, involving the peacock: In brief, Zeus was fooling around with some maiden named Io, Hera almost caught him but Zeus saw her coming and turned Io into a cow. Hera, knowing Zeus, innocently asked for the cow as a gift, and Zeus couldn't refuse such an insignificant request. Hera then had Argos guard Io; having 100 eyes, he never slept with more than 50 closed at a time, thus being the perfect guard. So Zeus called in a favor to Hermes, who disguised himself and met up with Argos, who was lonely and bored from guarding a cow. So, Hermes embarks on the world's most boring story, and one by one, the eyes drooped shut. Hermes then touched all of the eyes with a magic wand and sealed them shut, so, essentially, he bored Argos to death. Hera, in recognition of Argos' service to her, placed his eyes on the tail of the peacock.
Anyway, that's how I guessed it.
I spy with my little eye, something that starts with "S."
