i'd like to add that once you lived a bit, grown a bit, and gained a bit of wisdom, you may find courage enough to throw the turd away. You can put the turd behind you. But don't be too fooled. The turd is probably still in your pocket.

Seems like a pretty wide paint brush you're using. It's also possible that if the neighborhood stinks, someone else is using too much fertilizer and eventually it will wash away or sink into the ground. I lived in farm country, and the smell of poop was a seasonal thing. It's not really different here. Seasons and poop come and go. Sometimes you need to check your shoes, but sometimes it's just the aroma of the neighborhood.
