I played fantasy baseball in several different formats for years and fantasy football for a couple of years until my schedule didn't give me the time. But bottom line, is if you enjoy tracking stats, they are a blast (especially baseball, but that could be due to my liking that sport more).
I have played both on the net and IRL and the 2nd is much better if you can get a league started, because of the banter that goes on between friends.
