Roger Waters and the rest (read: comparably unimportant) of the members of Pink Floyd have announced that they will reunite to play the upcoming Live 8 concert stating that their personal quarrels with each other are petty in comparison to the (Enter fashionable cause here - war, hunger, AIDS, etc.) problems around the world. Although the reunion is a little late and any performances outside of Live 8 may never occur, I'M STILL VERY EXCITED. If the original line-up (no, not Syd Barrett - he's busy eating cheeseburgers, gardening at his mum's flat and being crazy) ever came to my town to do a show I would sell BOTH my nuts to get there! Hell, I would probably do heroin through both my nuts in a gale force wind on the peak of mt. Everest at 1am Everest time just to see this show.

Anyone going to Live 8 to see Floyd? Anyone here as excited as I am?

Today is Pink Floyd Day, people. It's a celebration.

Blasphemy!
David Gilmour/Richard Wright and Nick Mason are far superior to Roger Waters!!!
Pink Floyd are better off without him.

Whilst I would go through hell and high water to see Pink Floyd, this does not include sitting through a load of tripe such as Madonna, U2, etc.

I have long held the suspiscion that you are deaf and this confirms it. Waters was nothing without Gilmour and ya know it, now go do something useful like posting something about Zappa in the spirituality forum.

Roger Waters could kick David Gilmour/Richard Wright and Nick Mason's asses with one leg tied behind his wheelchair.

Now here's something I can agree with you on, sans the comparably unimportant band members. I could have sworn I had seen most Live 8 concerts sold out though. But I WAS only looking at concerts that included Dave Matthews, don't know if he is participating in all of them.

Dave Matthews Band- excellent, excellent, especially in concert. Not my usual cup of tea but this band stands out. It shouldn't be included in a thread about Pink Floyd though as I might get lynched...

I love DMB more than Pink Floyd!

I would pour sulphuric acid through a cracked top coke bottle into my dehydrated eyelids to see DMB play in my town. Ironically Dave is apparently a South African. I wonder if he's ever been back here... doubt it. South Africa ain't for little cats.

Whew! I was expecting a "how dare you" post. One of the live albums that came out recently is Dave Matthews at The Gorge, in George, Washington. I live 2 1/2 hours from there and that's where I see him every year (this August will be my third year). The DVD has some great footage of the spot, it's the most excellent weekend of my year.
