Fastest Drying Paint
Hope you'll get involved with this fascinating topic. Thinking it might be both informative and fun.
I'm interested in which paint dries faster, Benjamin Moore "Richmond Bisque 67B9-6NEL-Q449" or Sherwin-Williams "Gingery SW 6363". We'll keep it quite simple. Here's how:
#1. Number of minutes since you applied the original coat, rounded to the nearest millisecond.
#2. Composition of surface original coat was applied to. (e.g. drywall, pine...etc.) If drywall, or other man-made surface, please include exact chemical makeup of materials used. If it's a natural surface, such as pine, oak, marble...etc, please note country (and region) of origin.
#3. Please divide the porosity of the painted surface (#2) by the number on minutes elapsed since paint (#1) was applied. To determine the porosity of the surface, you may use the calculation found on the following page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porous
#4. Extract a sample paint chip from dried surface and carefully measure thickness to within 1/1,000,000th of a centimeter. Divide the figure arrived at in #3 by the result.
#5. If there's sustained interest, I'll provide other popular paint colors to test, and we can graph and publish our findings on a blog.
..........................
Notes: Hereby would ask Grampy Bobby to please elaborate on the technical instructions on how to determine porosity. There may be a
scientific calculator function but my limited googling was unable to locate it. In the interest of accuracy, please
provide your results in a clear and readable format, so that we can easily input them into tables for further analysis.

LMAO. Though, if you want to be scientific, aside from surface composition, you should also record temperature & relative humiditiy.
Also, paint thickness is typically measure in "mils" which is not the same as millimeters.
This is where the lively discussion begins!

* windspeed
* sunshine or shadow.
* relative heights
And I recommend to use a standard surface. Since I am not familiar with these paints I can't say fi a olymer a metal or a stone would be most appropriate.
