There's a stunning movie called "Fresh" that came out in the mid-90s, got some good reviews but wasn't shown at a lot of cinemas, at least not in this country. It's an American movie.

It starts off VERY slow, but by golly the ending sticks in the mind!

Correct spelling, "Memento". And yes, it was an excellent movie, needs to be seen at least twice to comprehend it...and event then you're very bright if you can "get it" in just two viewings. A real movie for chessplayers...

Though there are lots of other flicks I could recommend here, the one I really wish more people would see is Ringu. It was released in Japan in 1998 and eventually got remade by American producers into The Ring, which, despite any good praise you hear, is absolutely god-awful in comparison. The original Japanese version has no stupid love story, no stupid The Shining-like kid, and knows exactly how to set its audience up for each scare. I highly recommend it to anyone who HASN'T seen The Ring yet, since The Ring basically butchers the story so much that it'll be hard to enjoy the original version.

Ringu is definitely worth a watch. I also recommend Ju-On, the original "The Grudge".

Dellamorte Dellamore - wierd visually different film about a man in charge of a cemetary which brings the dead back to life, funny and dark.

Wisdom of Crocodiles - Dark thought provoker about a man who can only survive by feeding on the blood of women that fall in love with him, to stop his body breaking down. Starring Jude Law and Elina Lowensojon

The Ruling Class - Absolutely brilliant script sees Peter O'Toole returning home from an asylum to inherit his father's estate thinking he is the second coming of Jesus. Hilarious, Peter O'toole is fantastic. I cannot urge you to see this film enough.

Trigger Happy - Story of a club in which the basement holds a Russian Roulette game, it is being run by Jeff Goldblum in the absence of the owner who is in an asylum (again.. hmm...). He gets out and takes the business over again but is still a few cherries short of a fruitcake. Very amusing, all star cast.

I could go on, but I have things to do 🙂

Excellent little film!

Buscemi is one of my favourite actors.

Here's couple of 'lesser known' films I enjoyed:

- Ed Wood (okay...not that lesser known)
- Videodrome
- The Hudsucker proxy
- Smoke / Blue in the face
- The ice storm
- Iris
- Hideous kinky
- Don Juan DeMarco (with Depp and Brando)

Buffalo 66 - Vincent Gallo and Christina Ricca...easily one of my top 3 films...
