Should be easy right?
For me, and not necessarily in this order and more could be added but could be:
1.The Godfather
2.The Godfather II
3.JAWS
4.The Empire Strikes Back
5.Shawshank Redemption
2.Pianist(Roman Polanski)
3.Once upon in America
4.The ghost
5.Leon
Favorite movies that everyone SHOULD see? Well lots of my favorites I don't think are for everyone so I'm gunna have to use my noggin' for this one..... Hmmmm....
1. The Wizard of Oz (at the earliest age possible!)
2. E.T.: Extra-Terrestial
3. Jaws
4. Pulp Fiction
5. The Matrix
I think if you want to cover all the basics of modern cinema, then these movies are a must-see. I was thinking of including Star Wars and The Godfather, both of which I liked a lot more than E.T., Jaws, and The Matrix, but meh.

I'm embarrassed to say I have not seen "Oz" already the way through but I have read the book.
I've seen E.T. when I was a kid so I am wondering if it would still hold up for me now? I think it's on the AFI's top 100, right? I guess it would then.
I would have put Pulp Fiction on my list too but I don't know if that movie is for everybody. It's definitely one of my favs but I think Shawshank was out the same time when they were both up for an oscar. If I had to pick a better movie, I would go with Shawshank.
Originally posted by Joe FistI don't like The Matrix that much either, but it has certainly had the most influence of any movie in the past five years, so I chose that. The Wizard of Oz is an ABSOLUTE must see for any child, and E.T. is a must see for most children too. I chose Pulp Fiction for teenagers and grown-ups who want to stray from the mainstream, even though PF is more or less the most mainstream of all anti-mainstream movies, lol.
