Smooth is exactly what gives Santana a bad name, IMO

Radiohead.

I can't objectively evaluate their music anymore with so many people drooling at how good they are supposed to be. I don't even care about losing whatever good music they've written, I prefer my hatred.
Thank God someone's said it!
I thought it was just me who hated them....

Radiohead.
Rush.
... and any of those talentless, tiresome rap groups that my 11 year old seems to worship...

Xe probably misspelt "ruche". It's sort of a band. Not my favourite, but to each xyr own.

Green Day...most overrated band on Earth
The Offspring..how in the heck did these guys make it?
The Beach Boys..a roomate of mind in the 70's had all of their albums..I don't talk to him anymore.

As for Santana, his best period was in the mid to late 70's when he was playing with guys like Leon Thomas and John Mclaughlin. love, Devotion and Surrender as well a Caravanserii are jewels.

Radiohead might still have better days ahead. And they've already had some good ones. A band that takes chances like them can still surprise.

Nearly all rap has absolutely no validity so iIwon't waste any time listing them. Same with country pop.

A mate of mine back in school tried to force feed me with them... whilst I can appreciate their individual musical talents, their 'songs' are just a mishmosh of noise... there doesn't appear to be any melody.
I always think they're showing off... "Oooohhh listen to how quickly I can get up and down a fret board"... "Oooohhh listen to how many drums I can hit in any 3 second spell".... the best description for it is probably 'adult oriented schoolroom sychophancy'...

you should try out something like merzbow, masonna, aube, macronympha, stimbox, MSBR, drift patter or even lou reed's 'metal machine music' (which is the most melodic of these by far), and suddenly rush starts to sound pretty damn melodic.

it will hurt at first, blood might come through your temples and you might vomit uncontrollably. but after you go dead inside, it'll start feeling almost comforting.
