"Silent Night" or "Stille Nacht" gives me chills, too, but in a different way - I shudder just thinking of it. It's not so much the song itself, although the text is pretty awful (at least the German text, I haven't checked out the English text). But it has been totally destroyed by being sung by people who can't sing, played in shopping centres in awful arrangements etc. If a good choir sings a good arrangement of it, it can actually be nice.

I am not sure what's my favourite Christmas song, I have several favourites. But they are all German, so most people here probably wouldn't know them. My favourite Christmas music is Bach's Weihnachtsoratorium.

"Go Tell It on the Mountain" by the Blind Boys of Alabama with Tom Waits is the one X-mas song that I'll listen to outside of the X-mas season.
