Over the Xmas break, and quite possibly although not definitely after a few beverages, FMF and I were discussing comparative and relative finger lengths. FMF contested that my index fingers were unusually short compared to the middle fingers but failed epically to provide ANY evidence to back up his claim.
Since then I have done about five and half minutes of internet based qualitative research and find him to be incorrect. However I did come across a myriad of “studies” claiming all sorts of correlations between relative finger length and susceptibility to various health disorders including but not exclusively: covid19, prostrate cancer, low testosterone (staging from womb to maturity), sense of direction (in women), aggression (in men) and general emotional stability.
Research is of course inconclusive but I’m suspecting that a certain finger length ratio could indicate a proclivity to be overly concerned about people passing comment on your fingers.

Hey. I am showing you my middle finger.
@divegeester saidYears ago I read an article about how relative finger lengths indicated an excess or lack of testosterone. Nothing about other ailments though.

@pettytalk saidP.S.
As a physician, the concern is not with the length, as much as it is with the circumference. But this concerns only males, when it's time for prostate inspection. Of special concern should be the supply of petroleum jelly on hand, as the lack of can be very concerning when I say, bend over.
I have been known, on occasions, to use more than one finger for the intrusion, when the hole is bigger than usual.
@pettytalk saidAre you saying you are a physician? 😛

@pettytalk saidWhen the doctor asked me to bend over he said 'try not to get an erection Steve.' I said 'my names not Steve.' He said 'I know, I'm Steve.'
