Start FF in safe mode (from your Mozilla FireFox start menu group). If it works, do:
Download CCleaner and run a clean. It will work wonders for you overall, but will 'clean up' everything that needs done for FF.
Start FF again. If the problem persists then you may have to disable add-ons, restart and enable them one by one to eliminate your problem. Install the QuickRestart FF addon to help with this.
