Why is Firefox showing all theses symbols i have character encoding set on auto universal yet same version on Vista works fine?

Looks like you are at the .jp lastfm site = the japanese version I presume. I guess the symbols are meant to be Japanese writing or something.

Maybe you could try the plain lastfm and see if that helps?
