I would definitely say so, yes. Varese and Stockhausen were certainly pioneers but let's not confuse pioneering with influence.
Well, Kraftwerk didn't come up with their ideas out of the blue. Even in the krautrock scene they weren't the first to experiment with electronics.

Sorry, what are we talking about here? Influence or who thought of what first? If it's the latter then let's just say everything is derivative of Gregorian chant.

Drum is my main influence. This is not a coincidence.

Yeah, the Beach Boys made some decent stuff, but I wouldn't say they are particularly influential.
well, for example there wouldn't have been a sgt.pepper without pet sounds.

Well, the Beatles are boring, and so are most indie rock bands - especially those formed after Oasis killed the genre in 1995.

The Beatles are THE prototype for a generic pop band.

The Velvet Underground are THE prototype for an artistic pop band.
my world was never the same after "tomorrow never knows".

Hmm, well that's more of a negative influence.

Because the Beatles spawned even more uninspired and boring middle-of-the-road rock bands that are currently poisoning the minds of my peers.

Ha! Agreed - I have come to think of The Beatles as the most over-hyped band ever, whose influence has been, by and large, malign.

Watching '24-Hour Party People' the other night I was reminded that Ian Curtis was surely a most influential rock musician.

its not the beatles' fault that other losers tried to copy them and failed e.g Oasis, that obviously based their whole carrear on the song "rain".
