2 - 0 to the home side for me.

He should come home. His child will only be born once, but it's possible that England will lose again in the future against some obscure cricket-playing country like Austria...

He should definately come home.

We'll lose to India anyway, so it's better that he sits at home on the sofa with his new born kid and his Golden Balls reputation intact. I'm sure they'll release yet another "England Win the Ashes" DVD to make us forget all about it and brain-wash the population into thinking we haven't played cricket since the Aussie's and we're still the 'best national cricket team' in the world.

Its up to him but he should stay.
Come on! A generation ago he wouldn't have even been allowed in at the birth anyway.
Plus he might still not miss the birth.
Anyway, we have more to worry about all the other injuries/drop-outs (Trescothick has rushed home, Vaughan injured, Pietersen possibly injured, S. Jones maybe out, Giles out).
The team that won the Ashes would stand a good chance in India - an inexperienced second string team will definitely struggle.

Well he is staying, but a little surprised to see him as captain. I'd have thought Strauss to be the most likely choice having plenty of experience in the role with Middlesex as well as not having to bowl himself.
