And the fuss starts.
If they were made in China, if ze Germans sold the diluted version, if there will
be side effects in 5 or 10 years, if kids from vaccinated moms will be born with
a third eye, etc.
What do you think about it? Will you get yours?
Here the risk groups are getting it relatively quick, after 1 hour queue, and if you
don't belong to a risk group all you have to do is to say that you have asthma.
I'm pondering if to get it at all.
Originally posted by SeitseThey started two weeks ago here, and I got mine last week, together with several of my colleagues. We were asked to take it because we work with some very vulnerable children. It wasn't much fun, my arm hurt a lot for a few days, and I had mild influenza symptoms for two days, but I still prefer that over a full-blown flu, or even worse, passing it on to a child who might die of it. But if I wouldn't have the job I have, I probably wouldn't have taken it.

I heard today that one of my colleagues who was also vaccinated last Tuesday now likely has the swine flu. It takes a while (about two weeks according to some, but nobody seems to know for sure) to build up immunity after getting vaccinated. So I am not safe yet...
Originally posted by SeitseI wasn't planning on getting H1N1. I've never had a flu shot in my life.

Then I brought my kid to the allergist for a check up and he was quite pissed off at me and basically guilted me into setting them all up for it. We all have asthma.
I don't run out and get new vaccines - it makes me a little nervous.
Originally posted by Sam The ShamI barely felt the needle, and the injection site was almost invisible. The arm didn't hurt much right afterwards, it only really started several hours later and was worst on the third day. Some people didn't have any problems at all, others were worse off than me.
What is the H1N1 shot different somehow? I get flu shots every year the needle is so fine I never even feel it.
Originally posted by asromacalcioGuillain–Barré syndrome can be triggered by the introduction of any antigens into the body. This includes micro-organism borne illnesses. Therefore catching the flu itself is a risk, and can trigger the immuno response. Also the syndrome is a progressive one and does not happen over night. It starts as numbness in the extremeties and creeps though t he limbs to the torso. It does not happen suddenly over night and it is treatable too.

Not all doom and gloom.
I myself however will not be taking this vaccine, as I've heard these vaccines can make you feel like ****. Might as well run the risk of getting ill and taking nature's vaccine huh?
