I've heard that there is a fixed game scandal in the Italian soccer league. Are any of the Italian Cup team members implicated in this scandal?
Certainly are. Buffon being the most implicated, due to his betting habits, and his being a goalie.

The Italians were thinking about not letting him play, but then they remembered he's probably the best in the world right now, so they'll sort it out after the cup.

Why is it that Cardiff and Swansea are allowed to play in the English football league but Rangers and Celtic aren't ?
It is because there wasn't a Welsh league when those clubs were formed, so they joined the English leagues, but when Rangers and Celtic were formed there was a Scottish league so they had their own league, whereas the Welsh clubs didn't.

Actually, in theory a better question might be why can Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own leagues and national teams when they don't have their own independent states?

Why not Catalonia, the Basque Countries, or people who like wearing sleeveless jumpers on Tuesdays...
