i haven't heard that but it did remind me of this:

in Swahili, a language spoken in parts of eastern Africa, the name of a former Japanese Prime Minister, Kumamoto, means the same word i suspect you are alluding to, but with the adjective 'hot' attached. Apparently Kumamoto-san visited Kenya a few years back, and newsreaders were even too embarrassed to say his name on TV.

Back in the 70's (or perhaps early 80s), former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser was photographed, sans pants (trousers) stubling into his hotel lobby, in Memphis, USA. Needless to say, this incident dogged his political career from then on...he claimed that he had been drugged.

Who knows...in German, "dick" means "thick". Which, of course, is still correct. : )
