I have no problem with you disagreeing in fact I welcom it Johan, it is every bodies right to have an opinion.
I have a couple of questions about it though.
Do you believe that a ban on hunting will reduce the number of foxes killed?
On the assumption that it doesn't ( and I strongly believe this to be true) what is the proposed method of killing the foxes - is this more humane?
My strength of feeling on this matter is not particulary about fox hunting but on the wider issue - would you support a ban on angling?
Originally posted by Mat Kelleyi think the fox has an opinion too.

so did sir george bernard shaw in descibing foxhunting:
The unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible.
(the quote is also attributed to oscar wilde and noel coward, apparently)
glad it is finally banned. so are the foxes, i'm sure.

Fox-hunting hasn't yet been banned. The government has merely allowed a vote on whether it should be banned, which will take place next week (September 15th). If the MPs in the House of Commons do decide to ban it, then the bill would still have to pass through the House of Lords, who have previously opposed such a ban. Finally, if the House of Lords obstacle is overcome then the ban won't come into effect for another 2 years.

The fox certainly does not have an opinion. Attributing human qualities to animals is nonsensical.
It should be self-evident that personal beliefs should never be used in order to subjugate an entire group of living beings.
It is one thing to possess a certain belief. However, to then act as if that belief mattered to those that will be affected by it is unacceptable.

Originally posted by rgoudieI assume you are in favour of the bill - why I ask the question is what is the point of the bill? What is the reason for banning hunting - and simply "I don't like it" isn't good enough.
I don't understand why you are asking this or why it matters.

If you believe hunting is cruel what are the other options? Hunting is not just about sport it is also used to control the fox population this will continue. What are the options for killing foxes?
