Dear Sir
We do not mind seeing advertisements on this site until we are able to subscribe, hopefully very soon.
But there is a real problem when you allow crooks who hope to find naive people to take the bate. to advertise.
I have received an advertisement saying that I have been chosen as a winner for being visitor number 999,999 to a website. I h ...[text shortened]... rpose. It would cause unnecessary and undeserved damage to your good reputation.

That's the whole point of adverts - to entice you to buy their product, click on their link or whatever. If the ad said - "click here although you have no chance of winning" - no one would go there, would they?

true, but it is still deceptive. blatantly so...
For example, how many adverts claim to be the No 1 at something, or the worlds greatest/fastest/most powerful....
What's worse is when they quote statistics like "Guarenteed to reduce grey hairs by up to 83%". I mean, come on. What does that really mean?
Actually, mentioning grey hairs reminds me of a particularly lame ad we have here in England for a mens hair dye. The voice-over guy (VOG) proudly explains that following years of advancement in hair dye research, this new product is the first to feature "X-grey science" 🙄
Right. I noticed this too in the past. But it appears that they are not the only ones who do this. I have had attempts by companies advertising free screen savors, after which I had many serious problems with my computor, until I was able to detect and remove all spyware programs they installed without my knowledge.
Take care.
