Oh give me a break. Mr seven recman.

Just as I managed to reach 243 total recs since the count had been reset as well. 😕
Seriously, I think that now the total rec count is gone (which is a good move, by the way), the 10 rec per month limit is rather too limited. Don't you agree?

Originally posted by StarrmanI don't see how it can easily be abused. Considering each post can only be recommended by a specific user only once. What is the worst that a particular user can do with unlimited recs? Maybe in one go recommend 100 posts which all it would gain is an extra rec for all of these different posts. It would hardly have an impact in the overall most recommended posts link.

As the total recs count is gone, there is no longer an incentive for an abuser to recommend lots of posts of the same user.
Originally posted by NordlysAgree with you there, I have hardly required more than 10 since it was introduced either. I was just saying that the limit is now rather pointless.

For example, if someone goes through the forums and finds maybe 30 posts who (s)he believes to be worth recommending, then why not allow it?
Rather than the person thinking to one's self, "I will have to limit which ones I recommend because I only have a limit of 10."
The way I see it, it hurts the legitimate recommenders more than the abusers.
Originally posted by lauseyAgree with you there. 🙂 I don't care much either way, but if people would start writing a lot of great posts, the current system wouldn't be good. Unfortunately I don't think that's likely to happen.

The Silent Majorty (20 people all with unlimited recs) make 100 posts between them, each reccing the others' posts once.
Outcome:
A reccomended posts area with 6+ pages of posts full of drivel and containing 19 recs each.
