Christ, all these fresher parties, droves of people crammed into their small buildings, with people pressed against every side, so much so that you have to barge past people to get anywhere, music so loud that half of what you hear is just a buzz in your ear, and so loud that saying anything is pointless, as you can't hear anyone, or indeed find anyone, because you end up getting lost in the crowd; queues so long and crammed at the bar, that you can never get served, I don't have the patience to wait forever to get served, and we're English, we should be able to queue properly. 😕
Whatever happened to the local pub situation, where people knew how to wait for their turn, but it didn't take long even then, reasonably loud music that didn't hurt your ears, that you can also have a nice conversation at the same time as, a pool table, a darts board, a pack of cards, somewhere actually to sit, actually being able to get served a drink at 12 in the morning, I miss that.
If it's supposed to be about getting to know and to meet people, maybe they should actually be a little more accommodating and constructive to that purpose. 😕😛
I have a trick to communicate in loud environments - I have a series of hand signals I created (with the help of some red hot pawn users) to chat up girls with.
To send messages, I write something on my phone and then hold it up to the relevent person for them to read (though does not work so well when they are drunk)
