I just happened across their myspace, and I'm just wondering how they're not more popular than they are. Anybody else a fan?

It's not that crappy indie music, is it? Do they sound like the Strokes?

Not really. They're from Wales.

I don't like Indie music either.

Nice one.

Would have also accepted "Eno" as an answer.

From wikipedia:
"Funeral for a Friend are a Post-hardcore/Alternative rock band with some emo/metalcore tendencies formed in Bridgend, Wales in the United Kingdom."

EMO tendencies - the worst kind.
Possibly the second worst, after metalcore.

Why don't you give them a listen instead of reading about them?

Post hardcore alternative rock? I prefer post rock alternative quasi hardcore. The post hardcore alternative rock scene totally died out when the post punk rock or experimental neo classic punk rock scene became cooler than thou with their heady post pubescent anti minimalistic new wave sounds. You have to be so careful with your music nowadays, everything is changing so fast, next thing you know you're stuck in an unpopular genre.

I've been a swords-and-sorcery death metal fan since I read about it here.

Not listened to any of it yet, but WHAT A CONCEPT!
