Hey, I just thought I would put this post up. It's about funny words. I only have four so far, but feel free to add to the list.

boondoggle: a useless activity

titivate: to smarten up; to spruce up

sesquipedalian: long; having many syllables.

consanguineous: related by blood; descended from the same ancestor.

therblig

in time and motion study, any task that can be analyzed. This is an anagram of the name Gilbreth, from F. B. Gilbreth, an American engineer who was very influential in the field of motion study. (His children wrote two books about growing up in the home of a motion-study expert; Cheaper by the Dozen and Belles on Their Toes.)

It's weird how many terms in algebra which end in '-morphism' can instead take the suffix '-erotic' and produce an English word:

homomorphism ---> homoerotic
automorphism ---> autoerotic

Yes, that's two. What sort of mapping is this?
