Seriously, what do people want tablets for?
They're not phones and they're bulky, while not
having the features and comfort of a good laptop.
I confess that I wanted a tablet badly and I was
about to sell a kidney for an iPad. But then I
changed my mobile into a Galaxy S and, voilà,
the thirst for a tablet went away.
I can use it as a mobile, of course, but also read
a kindle book quite comfortably and check all my
email accounts, besides listening to music and
having the ability to read, edit and create word,
excel and power point files.
Oh, and since I think mobiles are not for gaming
but for work, I don't care about that part.
Seriously, mobile phones should be exclusively for
working people and the elderly. No kids, no unemployed
persons. Just productive people or those who need
to be in touch in case of a real emergency.
Rant off.
I was always against the idea of a native Android app, mainly because of the effort required to learn then build so much for a minority of users, but since I have the basics covered now because of Rival Chess for Android, and some components are built - chess board interface, for example - I'm now thinking I should get one together.
The iPhone web app would be a template for the UI. The Android platform just seems to be getting too large to ignore now.
