My petrol this morning was 96pence per litre (about $1.70)

That's a whopping £4.30 a gallon ($8.00 ish)

But one UK gallon = 1.2 US gallons. Hmmmmm I don't know where to start....

Its a disgrace that the government do not promote and invest in electric or electric /petrol hybreed vehicles (ie like the toyota prius).....of course with the rip off 80% tax on petrol we pay, its not in their interests.

i got an email saying if enough people avoid using BP & Esso forecourts (the 2 oil giants) , the prices will drop....don't know if theres any truth in that.....but its worth a try

approx. $6.66 per US gallon. Devilishly dear.

From just over the € mark per litre, it went as high as €1.39 per litre in Ireland.

I reckon they just make it up, and any time there's a disaster in the world, add a load onto the price to cash in.

I have no evidence to support this, except that is concurs with my theory that "they" are all b@stards....

The Prius sounds like a bit of a con to me. Isn't the fuel economy about 50mpg?

If so that is slightly less than my ten year old petrol engined car.

$3.39/gallon Washington DC corner of New York Ave (US Rte 50) and Bladensburg Road.

Roughly an annual increase of 15% over the past 15 years. Not too shabby, except it all came about in about the last 18 months.

FACE IT !!!

The world's running out of oil !!!

It's going to get really boring seeing stories about oil for the next few decades.

Get on with alternatives (excluding invasions of other countries which will eventually trigger anhilation)

I fart a lot, does that count?
The average person passes gas 14 times per day. We're wasting this valuable and renewable resource. We should all be outfitted with ass gas collection devices and harness the methane for fuel. Fecal matter could be fermented in heated tanks to extract further methane for heat and cooking. The biodegraded waste could then be used for fertilizer.

Don't worry about it, there's plenty of hot air from your ilk to make up for the shortage.
