I find it rather disturbing that people are so willing to engage in such acts, with people they do not know, it seems weird to me, as I
personally couldn't see myself acting in such a manner. For to put it another way, I could only see myself being willing to do such actions in a loving and caring relationship, something with which I don't see happening w ...[text shortened]... prostitute, for I demand loyalty and trust in my relationships, or I demand there be nothing.

Whats the harm?
-Shame & possible humiliation
-Possible legal action
-Getting robbed (only if the intelligence bar swings in two totally opposite directions)
-Injuries (again, intelligence)
-I hear in some cultures that the girl eats the partner's head afterwards
Although that last one may have been about spiders, but it makes sense in some parts of the world.

Although the danger of having your head eaten cannot be remediated.

Originally posted by duecerYes, but do you think the US is actually capable of making the changes necessary within say, the next 30 years? No matter when it would be legalized, the stigma would last longer. And disease could never be managed, because people are always desperate for money, and would do what ever it takes to get it. Education goes back to fixing the US again. It would be extremely hard to get the knowledge to everyone.

Legal or not, people will always be idiots and find some way to get themselves into trouble.
Originally posted by GalaxyShieldprecisely, people are idiots, so why make a law that is goin to be broken, and cannot be enforced? Nevada has legalized prostitution, and they have done a pretty good job at keeping the disease's at bay.

btw: I am in no way advocating that people use prostitutes,I just thought the discussion would be interesting
Originally posted by duecerBecause at least with a law, there is some chance of people being more careful. I wasn't aware Nevada legalized it, but it makes sense for them. I'm not sure if the same type of thing would work on a national scale, or if other states would even put money into monitoring what's going on. Interesting questions.

I would imagine it would be pretty hard to keep the prostitutes safe from disease themselves, because again, people are morons.
Very interesting topic.
