Gentle Proposition for 2009

Gentle Proposition for 2009: That smarts and excellence in virtually any area of human knowledge, skill or endeavor are achieved (if at

all) patiently and by degree, and that the mechanics of achievement always involve correct daily priorities and maximum concentration.

Quite sure overall building block progress plays out roughly along these lines: (1) Sucking infant... without a clue... total dependence...

blank slate. (2) Teenager... acceptance of authority and teachability... gradual self esteem... cognitive self confidence. (3) Young adult...

partial grasp... autonomy... cognitive independence. (4) Full stature... maximum/integrated knowledge... maturity... cognitive invincibility.

Proposition principles would certainly seem to apply in the arenas of professional career skills as well as chess prowess. What think ye?

Seasons greetings Bob.

You forgot to add the final conclusion of the quiet whisper that is approaching.

Go and stand in the fresh air and take a deep breath, then ask yourself if it was all a smoke screen caused by a perverse sense of overwhelming importance.

I thought 'gentle' was an adjective not a preposition. 😉

Best GB, for 2009!

Help me here, Mike... 'prepo' or 'propo' or the "Great 21st Century Novel" 'once happy banks of the River Limpopo'?

All the very best to you and your family in the new year. Let's take it same as we did 2008... one day at a time.

I'm still trying to figure out what my New Year's promises to myself should be and how to keep them realistic 😕.

Why thank you, Woodgie. So nice to hear from you, again. especially today. I'm sorry Christmas, 2008, together didn't work out as planned.

In my sort of informed view (informed by past failure) New Year's resolutions don't work. Horizon's too long. It's the decisions made each day.

Perhaps, but some decisions matter none. 😀

Please help me to understand your meaning. Mom, two brothers, son and three grandbabies spoke with me today. God, I miss New England.

You are blessed to have your mom still with you. Mine died nearly 36 years ago and our lives fell apart...and were never the same again.

Coquette, day in and day out you make more moves than anybody (despite your busy schedule) and remain one bright light on this forum.

Thanks for your grace in our presence. Stay strong. Be well. -Bobby

Understand, Audrey. Remember, you still have her investment in you, the fragance of her memory (and Him). Please give my regards to Mr. Ale.
