Has this happened to anybody else? You're in the forums, reading posts and such, when you notice that you have 1 more Rec than you had earlier. You get excited...but then realize that you haven't posted today.

So that means that somebody, somewhere, read a post you created Heaven knows when, and now you have no idea which post it was, or what you said, or why they gave you a rec. All you know is, you got one.

I think those should be called Ghost Recs.

yeah it happened to me, i don't know how the hell i got those 17 ghost recs!!!!!

HA! didn't you know that you can rec old posts? don't you know that there are 20+ pages of recommended posts where you can watch if there's your?

Yes, I knew about the Recomended Posts section of the forums...but I don't check them, to see if any of my posts got recs.

I just think it's funny that I can get a rec, and not even know it. Of course, it would be nice to have so many recs, that I don't even care if I get one, or not. My pathetic little 23 recs don't really matter, all that much.

They're meaningless anyway. I only seem to get rec'd for what I consider my worst posts.

i even posted this in the site ideas bit asking to be notified if i got a rec or someone replied to my thread..

now i go to the recommended link up there and search.. and they all jumbled up.. dates screwed up..

but i share your pain Shanshu311.. 😞

I have also used this term... and found where most of them are. Usually a ghost rec will be the 2nd or 3rd rec for something you wrote a week ago... they usually end up on page 5 or so of the rec list.

Other times, yes... I have no idea how I just got a rec.
