Have we reached a tipping point and if so, does it matter?

This one was discussed in "Debates" and "Science" already.

The sum is: no one know for sure.

Ya. Why don't we just continue on as we are and maybe in a decade or two we'll be able to say conclusively yes or no.

I don't know how it is possible for intelligent people to not know we are killing this planet. Garbage washes up on the ice caps.

We don't know about the tipping point (which was the question).

That's the problem with tipping points.

By the time we can say conclusively, it's already too late.

It's like boiling a frog. Turn the heat too high and the frog jumps out. Turn up the heat slowly and the frog is boiled before he realizes it.

Have you performed this frog experiment yourself to know this is truly the case?

No need.

Man is performing this experiment on the entire planet already.

Want my guess how it turns out?
