British chess gradmaster James Plaskett got into the chair on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' tonight, and had reached £8,000 with all his life lines remaing when the show ended.
The questions he answered to get there, apart from the first five, which were easy as usual, were
What is usually kept in a jardiniere?
Which actress gave birth to twins called Hazel and Phinaeus in 2004?
and,
In which county is the Avebury stone circle?

Originally posted by PeakiteI saw one week when I was able to answer all 4 Q for £64k to £500k, but unfortunately the person on the show bottled it at that Q, so I never found out if I would have been able to answer the £1mil Q.
That show does have some very tricky questions in the first round, some of them much harder than the big money questions.
How the hell is anyone supposed to know about Coronation Street?
Having said that, I sometimes get stuck at home on the early questions on soaps etc.
Plaskett is up to £125,000 with all lifelines remaining,
the questions were
'Hob' and 'gill' are the male and female of which animal?
The 2004 film 'De-Lovely' is a biopic of which American composer?
To whom did Agatha Christie dedicate her novel 'The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side'?
Who was the mother of Charles II and James II?
Edit: he used all his lifelines on the £250,000 question
Crispin is the patron saint of which craftsmen?
but he's gone for it, and got it right!

Correct 🙂
