Using the Go board, there are at least 4 games you can play using the same Go pieces: Go, the game of territory, Go-Moku and Renji, both win by getting 5 in a row, and an american version of that called Pente, wins by getting 5 in a row but has the added tactical nature of being able to capture 2 (and only 2) pieces in a certain way and by getting 5 of those captures, also wins. My wife and I learned about Pente a long time ago and we both started on that game together. We got a portable magnetic set we could play in restaurants while waiting for the waiter and food.
