.. easier than messaging 50 people.

I'll be offline from 23rd through 30th with no net access so I won't be responding to clan challenges etc etc

I expect to receive the same tournament time-outs that I'd give so don't fret about taking them (unless we've personally agreed not to) - and some are unavoidable.

In case you're interested, I'm taking me wife and kids to Banff in the Canadian Rockies - Saturday is a 590 mile drive from Seattle - luckily the kids love long drives.

Cheers,

Paul.

Putting it here isn't all that great either, as it will most likely get lost off the bottom of the page in a few days.

I would recommend putting it in your profile, with the expected dates you will be gone. That way it's right there where anyone can click on it and see what you're up to. Also activate your 'vacation icon'.

Just a thought...

And as another aside: there is a tendency for people to start threads about themselves called "I am..." and such like: put your name in the thread heading and it is much more likely somebody playing you will actully read it!

Yes, "Chewie Vacates" is definitely a better title for this thread 😉. Have a nice vacation though.

🙂 Unfortunately there's no way to edit a thread's title once its been posted, and I was already planning on doing what Marc suggested too.

On a side note, how does a major tourist destination attract any patronage with a name like "Banff"?

What's wrong with 'Banff'? It's purportedly named after the town of the same name in Scotland.

Nothing wrong with it, just rather Dr. Seuss-esque. I hear it's beautiful though.

Ah - I get it. Don't recall it being mentioned in any of his stories (and I know most of the nearly by heart from repeated bedtime stories to my kids). I guess the best fit would be in 'If I Ran The Zoo' where Gerald McGrew gets all these wierd creatures from even stranger sounding places:

A Rasper from Jasper,
A Scranff from Banff,
An Antywheez from Lake Louise,
And a Wadgemurray from Calgary

It is indeed: banff is a fishing town in the NE of Scotland, from which the Canadian one got its name.

Both are very nice indeed!

Have fun!

Yup - in all the time I lived in Scotland before emigrating I never did anything but drive through Banff. More of a West Coastie I'm afraid (Helensburgh).

That's a long drive from Helensburgh to Banff!
