-Removed-We can distinguish several cases:
* Watching films only for entertainment value then we have good=entertaining
* Watching films for entertainment without injuring our moral values. Then we have the categories entertaining and morally sound: good, entertaining, but morally unsound: bad, morally sound, but not entertaining bad, neither morally sound nor entertaining: bad
* Repeat the procedure with any other aspect like "informative", emotinally touching,...
Example: I watched "If Beale street could talk". I found it to be depressing, informative, well performed.... so all in all I count it to be a good film, but I won't watch it again, due to my emotional cost.
Bad: The "Westside Story" remake.
The original is forever a classic, but this, except for maybe two of the song & dance numbers, just fell really flat. I liked the two main actresses (especially Anita), but the lead male was lifeless and flat.
Though this closely follows the original, there's a strange lack of charm and charisma in this film. Maybe that was the problem; instead of doing what was pretty much a shot-by-shot remake, the director should've brought his own vision to the film. Given this was produced by Stephen Spielberg, that probably would've been a good choice.
