Katja I need to come visit you 😀
It's all cloudy here, will have check the weather report....
astronomy buff it sucks. Every time there is some event, 'look up
at midnight you will see this comet' or such, its invariably
cloudy. I even have a nice 10 inch mirror to make a scope
but it hardly seems worth it, would not get much chance to use it.

Which is why I want to go to Norway to visit Nordlys... I figured if she's so into it, it must be a good place to watch it 😉
Originally posted by angie88Well, it's almost never sticky hot here, but we get plenty of clouds. 🙁 I have missed many good displays due to clouds. Of course I still get to see a lot of aurora, and maybe I should be glad that it's often cloudy because I also need to sleep from time to time. 😉 It's worse for visitors who have limited time. You should plan to stay for at least about two weeks to be fairly sure to get to see something (of course there's never a guarantee). Or you should go to a place which is further away from the coast.

Originally posted by NordlysI think it's cleared up... it's 20:30 now, if I'm still awake at 11 pm I'll step out.
