It sounds good though. I don't know if I could stand to throw chocolate into it, I've heard of it, but can't imagine risking the destruction of a good pot of chili.
Has to be real high % cocoa - 80% stuff, Green & Blacks Organic make a good one.

My mum is making it pretty simple at home.

Fry some minced meat, then put it in minced tomatoes, add corn, brown beans and some Fajita spice mix, let it boil in it's own juice for a few minutes and there you have it. Btw, we use canned, peeled tomatoes and canned corn. Making this meal takes 15 minutes and you can easily make a lot, so there's enough for a few days.

Fry these

Add Meat (400g should be enough) and as much Chilli Powder as you like

Fry further

Add Dried Mixed Herbs & any of those spices mentioned above.

I then add (all drained of water):

Sweetcorn (Tin of)
Kidney Beans (Tin of) - often lazy and buy the ones in a chilli sauce instead of wa ...[text shortened]... . It'll be edible after about 45mins though. Tastes best the days after (Refrigerate though).
That sounds tasty. I'll have to try that with fake meat.

Never had chocolate in my chili (that I'm aware of), but I'll bet it adds a nice flavor.

Seafood chili is really good (if done right).

Passatta!

Tinned, peeled chopped plum if you must. Fresh don't cook down very well - the skin gets in the way, and they tend to water down the dish rather.

It is not always true that tinned is inferior to fresh. Tinned, peeled, plum tomatoes always for sauces and othet cooked dishes.

Tinned pineapple is better than fresh!
