Good manners...

Good manners, poise, common courtesy, sensitivity, respect for the rights of others begin at home. What are you teaching your children?

Edit: If you're in your early teens or unmarried or childless, alternatively, what signature behavior values did your parents stress with you?

I started it out with a few simple rules , like, 'If you make your sister cry, I will make you cry.' and, ' if you try to get your brother in trouble, the trouble will be yours.' and sort of built on that foundation. 🙂

Simple ones, for example, "if you beg for coins in the streets pretending to be blind, be sure not to stare at people".

They also know that if someone makes them an offer in exchange for their organs, they should never go for the first bid. Always negotiate, always.

I had the importance of good manners (not the posh type) and respect for other people, your elders etc drummed into me from an early age and often got "feedback" from my parents when I chose not to. It is an upbringing I'm very pleased to have had as it tempers everything I do and say (most of the time!). It's not nice to see kids bad mouthing their parents as you often do these days.

What difference does "unmarried" make? Why is it part of an "alternative"? 😕
Explain, please.

Why? Surely an unmarried couple who stay together and actually raise the child is far superior to a married couple who have kids then go through a divorce, no??
