As soon as you mentioned blues I started thinking of lots of variations on "better dead than red"

Better Blue Than Red

Better Blue Than Dead

Red Is Dead

or just the original one, Better Dead Than Red

Great band names just show up in normal conversation. For example, a buddy of mine was recently bragging about having just made a "Wicked Quiche" -- a band name is born.

In high school, we had this big friend named Buzzy and, when someone would be describing someone else large, the question was invariably, "Bigger Than Buzzy?"

There's my two:

Wicked Quiche
Bigger Than Buzzy

Anyone remember Jello Biafra's "Names for Bands"?

The only one I can remember is 'The Chocolate Foetuses'.
