Got a job offer!

General

I got a job offer in New Jersey, 45K a year, full time with bennies, as a clean room maintenance tech, which is what I have been doing for a long time. Not bad for a 70 yo, eh! Long commute though but at least I can pay the bills!

Wonderful news in normal times... utterly fantastic news

for an olde codger residing on the East Coast in 2011.

Sounds like you may be working a night shift what with the need for Bennies. And this job...does it have anything to do with cleaning up after a Mob job?

I have been a field service engineer since 1982 so I am just back in the saddle again working on semiconductor manufacturing machines like sputtering machines, ion implanters, ion etchers, horizontal and vertical furnaces (they add layers of glass and other stuff to the silicon wafers), spinners, coaters, dryers, annealing ovens and the like. Probably also will be involved with infrastructure stuff like humidifiers (the cleanrooms want to be around 50 % humidity or so), DI water manufacturing, LN2 to nitrogen gas conversion and such. It will be a challenging position.

Bennies in this case means full company benefits like major medical, dental, 401K with company matching funds, that sort of thing. It's privately held and going to stay that way so there won't be any stock coming out of this deal.

As I said in my initial post...good on ya. I'll add ya old far...ah foget it. Glad for ya. Etch and implant those ions, although I have some pretty weird thoughts on that subject.😲

Are you really 70 years of age?

Well done on the new position.
