I need a break.

Friend - I just got back from a great roadtrip. I drove from PA to Montana and took in all the wonderful site along the way. It was a two week trip, saw MT, SD, ND, NE, WY, etc.
Montana and Glacier National Park was the highlight (but is probably already closed for the season, it snows early up there).
If you're bored and want to read about it - feel free to check out the blog I did along the way : turtlex.blog-city.com
How much time do you have to spare for the trip? I'm already planning a return to Montana and South Dakota!

Thanks for the tip, turtlex! Much appreciated! I've never been to that part of the country and Montana sounds beautiful. I actually know someone who lives there to boot.
Okay, so what's a geocache and who is the Eagles fan? 🙂
Montana was amazing! Absolutely! So was South Dakota (Badlands National Park especially) and the whole trip just really rocked!
geocaching is a sport where you use a GPS device to find a hidden "treasure". Check out www.geocaching.com for more info. Its a lot of fun!
I have a bunch of real Philly Eagles fans as friends! And the Jets, and the Titans!
Berlin.
I went just the other week and it was great.
You can do almost any type of holiday you want there. Active / relaxed / insular or outgoing. No hills though.
Don't worry about German speaking (though I'm sure even a fumbled atempt is always welcome), as nearly everyone you're likely to speak to will have excellent English (embarassingly so).
Of course, there's a big travel time from the US on that which may deter you.

Thanks for telling me about Berlin. The travel time is no problem.
Originally posted by eagles54Try Varadero, Cuba. The beaches are beautiful, the people are very accomodating (mostly) and fully-loaded trips are very inexpensive. The fellow vacationers are always friendly and liberal and there doesn't seem to be the whole creepy frat-boy and tactless tourist thing going on there. I wonder why that is???

San Franciso is a gorgeous place to visit. You have nature's beauty all around, plus a wonderful city with all manner of entertainment.
If you want something down South, San Antonio is a beautiful place as well. If you give it another month New Orleans will be great as well. The Texas gulf coast is great.
Originally posted by darvlayCuba is an intriguing choice. I can vouch for the beaches, as I have been to Guantanamo Bay years back (Navy) but of course it wasn't a pleasure cruise. lol

Never been to Texas although I've been along the Gulf Coast as far as Baton Rouge and New Orleans. San Antonio is so saturated with history and integral to our nation's early birth that I'm sure it's a fascinating place. I'll have to research the Texas Gulf Coast a little as I'm not familiar with its charms.
Thanks!
