surely ironman (if an engine user) has come up against another engine user on many occasions in his 1303 games possibly using the same engine, chessmaster v chessmaster usually one side will win. The thought of beating ironman must have been very tempting for some to use an engine so surely he should have more losses? And by the looks of some of his challenges he takes anybody on.

When it comes to engines vs. engines. The one with the bigger processor, better software, better DRIVER and more time spent on each move, is going to win.

All further questions in this interview will be centaur questions.
If you were a centaur and there was a really hot horse back end sticking out of a barn and you couldn't see the front to tell if it was another centaur or just a horse, would you have sex with it?
Originally posted by XanthosNZSo you are saying that somebody with a LOT of chess knowledge using an engine would play even better than a moron using an engine?
An engine working together with even middling players has a massive advantage over an engine working alone (or with someone who plays the moves it suggest mindlessly).
Who would have thought that... 🙂
