September 30, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- According to reports released this week, hackers attacked the Web site of a group suspected of beheading two US hostages in Iraq, forwarding visitors to a page displaying a penguin holding a machine gun and waning against hosting similar sites.

The Web site, hosted by a free hosting provider, belongs to the Tawhid and Jihad Group of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, reportedly an ally of al-Qaida. Late week, the site carried videos of British hostage Kenneth Bigley pleading for his life, and videos of the decapitations of two US hostages.

The hackers, who reportedly call themselves "TeAmZ USA," warned Web hosting companies "Host them and your next!" The group has reportedly attacked other Islamist and al-Qaida-supporting Web sites.

Militant groups have been increasingly using the Internet to spread their messages, and frequently use free hosting providers, moving to new hosts after their sites are shut down.
