Just found this out: If you push the 'door close' and the desired floor button at the same time, you go directly to that floor and it does not stop at any other floor! I am going to try it next time I do an elevator, it doesn't work on all elevators, the mode is called 'express mode' and may be turned off on some elevators by the owners but its worth an experiment to find out, eh!

Sounds like a conspiracy. 🙂
Originally posted by zeeblebotI'm guessing this "express" mode only cancels/ignores the requests from outside the elevator. I'm also guessing that once entered, any further button pushing inside the elevators would cancel the "express" mode.
won't the other people on the elevetor wonder why their stop was skipped?
Say you get in the elevator and do this, desiring express to the 12th floor. Since there was already someone in the car, the elevator would stop at his 4th floor. If someone got on at the 4th floor and pressed 8 for 8th floor, then the car would go to the 8th floor also mindful of a button pressed in the meantime on the 6th floor and would stop there first (since the car is now out of express mode).
Edit: sounds like a beginning to a riddle
