I've believed in the Great Pumpkin for years, and so will be joining my friends this Halloween as I wait by the pumpkin patch for his glorious return. So much safer than dodging traffic and candy poisoners! Last year was amazing! I waited till 2 A.M. in the morning, making sure not a doubt crossed my mind and was rewarded by smelling a delicious aroma of pumpkin spice in the air. I looked up and there he was, floating majestically about 50 feet above my head! A shining orange ellipsoidal face grinning beatifically at me and which shortly began spewing presents like a veritable pumpkin pinata! I shouted with happiness, and did a Snoopy dance of joy! But then I tripped on a vine and twisted my ankle and let some unfortunate expletives sully the air. The Great Pumpkin apparently didn't like it and all the presents began levitating back into the air, with me screaming and clutching wildly at them. But this year I will get it right.
