So...Harrison Ford is responsible for (in my opinion) the two best cinema characters of all time (although he didnt create the characters it was him who made them what they are) but which is the better? I just cant decide.

Did you know that Burt Reynolds was supposed to be Han Solo but they decided to give a new actor a chance at the part?

Han Solo...obviously.

Well... ever after Lucas sabotaged the original and had Greedo fire first at him (and eventually at the same time) he has lost some of his rough credibility.

So, I'll go with Indy...

not strictly true - it's close ... but no cigar 😉

Reymolds did audition for the part (as did many others, such as Kurt Russell, Nick Nolte, Christopher Walken and Al Pacino) but it was never decided that he would get the part.

and although Ford was a "new" actor he had worked with Lucas before (American Graffiti) and had helped out with the auditions from the start ... it did take Lucas a while before he realised how good Ford would be as Han though.

Christopher Walken would have been interesting.

P.S. Indy gets my vote.

agreed - im sure he would have put a very different slant on the character, you can just imagine him sitting there explaining to luke about how his dad had stored his lightsaber up his ass for 5 years whilst being held up in some empire prison during the clone wars lol

Han Solo. Indiana Jones is awesome but Han Solo was his crowning moment.

i think im slightly with han solo. indiana has some fantastic lines but the genius of: "I love you" "I know" tips the scales.

yes, but where indy comes face-to-face with a sword-swinging ninja, any indy just shoots him. classic!

it's gotta be indy 🙂

there is also the classic line in Raiders when marion says: "I was young, it was wrong" and Indy replies: "you knew what you were doing"

that sums up indy for me, a rogue but a lovable one.

What did Han say to Gretto? I forget, but believe it was a good line also.

I'm scared that you consider these two the best cinema characters of all time.

They may have been fun but a touch one dimentional maybe?
