Let's try for something a little more positive here.... What are the happy phrases/sentences you remember from your life?

My favorite: "Yes!"
And right up there with that one: "Mind if I lean my head on your shoulder?"

memories.....<sigh>

not a sentence, but a phrase (well-it was actually a text message) from my brother, along the lines of,
"umm-me and amanda are engaged ad we're gonna announce it this afternoon. can you sorta not tell anyone until we've arrived"
i've never felt so happy for anyone in my life! (we were all going to a wider family gathering, and i was due to arrive before them)

another happy moment was my exam results...

but a single happy phrase or sentence? hmm. my mum-"i'm pregnant", but i was only ickle then. my happyness isn't generally in the word or phrase itself, but at least 10 minutes after when it's sunk in...

i'm not sure 'yes' is always so positive, except in a technical sense. consider:

'is it cancer, doc?
'yes'

'you're leaving me?'
'yes'

'did you just fart?'
'yes'

'it's cancer, you're leaving me, and you just farted?'
'yes. yes. yes.'

'you're a hard case, doc'
'yes'.

The "yes" I was thinking about was in answer to the question, "Will you marry me?"

Not necessarily happy, but quite funny - a friend had just accidentally spoken about me as if I was in the past tense, and I said
'I'm in the present tense!'
just as I crossed a road, right in front of a lorry. it was very close. I almost wish it had hit me, as they would have been the best last words ever

Did I mention that we were at the top of Old Rag Mountain overlooking the Virginia Piedmont fading off into the distant haze - the only two folks on top of the mountain on that early fall afternoon.....?
